The Yearly Booster Seasonal Influenza Vaccine Program 2023 – 2024
Join pharmacist Betty Golightly as she outlines Alberta’s 2023-2024 Seasonal Influenza Vaccine Program for pharmacy. In the first part of this course, Betty discusses the epidemiology of influenza, identifies who should receive an influenza vaccine, and discusses the standards and recommendations for safe vaccine administration. In the second part of the course, Betty outlines how to access and utilize references and resources available for pharmacists administering the influenza vaccine. She describes the policies, procedures, rules, and regulations for the publicly funded influenza vaccine program and describes the specific influenza vaccines to be administered in the 2023-2024 season in Alberta. A special focus is on the changes from last year’s program. The final part of the presentation is a question-and-answer session that addresses frequently asked questions. This is a recording of a previously recorded live presentation.
