Position Summary
CareRx Grande Prairie is seeking to hire a full-time Pharmacy Manager to lead our geriatric-focused specialty pharmacy team. The Pharmacy Manager ensures that the pharmacy operates according to company policy, professional standards, and provincial and federal laws which govern the profession of pharmacy practice. The Pharmacy Manager leads the pharmacy operations with the aim of consistency with regards to accuracy, efficiency, and a positive team culture.
Your Day to Day
- Responsible for overseeing internal and external team members which include, but are not limited to, operations pharmacists, clinical pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, registered technicians.
- Collaborate with the internal local pharmacy leadership team ensuring day-to-day operations of the pharmacy dispensary are completed accurately and on time in connection with team members across work stations.
- Collaborate with regional and senior team members for the review/development of company-wide initiatives and a strategic vision.
- Foster and maintain relationships/partnerships with current clients to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Promote and embody CareRx’s unique Mission, Vision, and Values (Collaboration. Accountability. Responsiveness, and Excellence.
- Ensure continuous quality improvement plans are in place aiming to maximize accuracy and efficiency (use KPIs if necessary).
- Manage pharmacy budgets, utilizing available resources.
- Be responsible for and participate (directly or indirectly) in scheduling (labour allocation across stations), inventory management, payroll activities, paying bills, drug recalls, root cause analysis of medication incidents, and other manager and non-manager-specific activities for the business.
- Complete individual responsibility/accountability agreements for team members.
- Problem solve and participate in conflict/dispute resolution, if required.
- Oversee and coordinate influenza and COVID outbreak protocols, when applicable.
- Participate in special projects such as new business transition processes and/or evaluating offerings/services with external vendors and/or stakeholders.
- Support and collaborate with business development regarding prospective clients and attend and participate in professional conferences and/or stakeholder meetings, if applicable.
Qualifications/Experience
- Registration and in good standing with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (i.e. RPh)
- Strong leadership and team development skills.

- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Be able to interact with persons of varying levels of professional expertise, inside and outside the pharmacy organization.

- Proficiency with computers IE: spreadsheets.
- Ability to remain unbiased when assigning tasks and resolving disputes.
- Business and financial acumen is an asset.

- Potential availability outside of ordinary business hours as applicable.
- Highly organized and possess excellent time-management skills.
- Skilled in critical thought processes and be able to prioritize and re-balance.
