Your Opportunity:
Temporary AHS housing for new employees may be available until accommodation is found. Additional benefits are available in the form of monetary compensation per the HSAA Union agreement due to the Northern location of the position above the 57th parallel. The community offers a variety of local activities and very unique opportunities to experience a part of Alberta and Canada that many do not get to experience. The summertime boasts nearly 24 hours of daylight and the wintertime, while colder than our Southern neighbors, offers spectacular Northern Lights and numerous winter activities. Northern Allowance: In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Northern Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $6,300.
This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Travel Expense Reimbursement: Permanent and temporary employees working in excess of one (1) year whose work sites are above the 57th parallel are also eligible to receive an annual reimbursement of personal travel expenses to an annual maximum of $1,235. Eligible employees will be reimbursed for the cost of one (1) round trip, per calendar year, to any destination within Alberta. Travel must originate from a community above the 57th parallel to any destination within Alberta and cannot be carried over. Practice is primarily clinical in nature and can be tailored to your practice. Close working relationship with Nursing staff, Physicians and Allied Health in a collaborative work environment. Multi-site practice: on site High Level support and hybrid remote/on site coverage of Fort Vermilion and La Crete. Multisite locations: High Level (primary location). Fort Vermilion (St. Theresa General Hospital). La Crete (La Crete Health Centre).
Description:
As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).

Preferred Qualifications:
Additional Prescribing Authorization and prior hospital or clinical experience an asset.
