Through the ENVIRx Program, year round, pharmacists promote safe and effective drug use while giving Albertans an opportunity to return unused and expired medications and sharps to their community pharmacy. These medications and sharps are collected by pharmacies and destroyed in an environmentally friendly manner.

ENVIRx Program 2023-2024

ENVIRx 4 Containers –$90.00 Entitles pharmacies to 4 containers (medications/sharps combined) per year. This option works out to 2 containers for free and is ideal for new pharmacies or those stores that have lower volume of sharps and unused medications. $45.00/container for usage over 4 containers.

Think you’ll use more than 4 containers per year?

ENVIRx 20 Containers – $315.00 Entitles pharmacies to 20 containers (medications/sharps combined) per year. This option works out to 13 containers for free and is ideal for pharmacies that collect a higher volume of sharps and unused medications. $45.00/container for usage over 20 containers.

Each pharmacy is only eligible to purchase one ENVIRx option with a pharmacist membership and remains linked to the store for the membership year.
