Pharmacy Funding and Program Changes Coming October 1, 2026

The Government of Alberta’s Multi-Year Pharmacy Framework includes several changes that will affect pharmacy practice and reimbursement beginning October 1, 2026. These include updates to care plan billing, maintenance and daily dispensing requirements, pricing for certain over-the-counter and nutritional products, limits related to topical compounds, and other government drug program changes.

A pharmacist billing cap also came into effect on June 26, 2026.
