Job Description

Well established Rural Pharmacy in Oyen, Alberta is looking for a Regulated Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Team. This full-time to part-time team member will assist in the operations of the Pharmacy, including providing technical consultations to customers and working collaboratively with our local health care providers.  There is an opportunity to practice to your full scope in providing technical services, dispensing medication, and assisting in the maintenance of the dispensary.

Duties include:

  • Accurately and timely dispense all prescriptions and patient focused services as required
  • Maximize patient care in a patient centred pharmacy practice
  • Operate pick-up counter as required and assist with insurance questions
  • Maintaining the dispensary inventory level within the prescribed guidelines through accurate inventory records
  • Maintenance of complete and accurate documentation as required by the various Colleges of Pharmacy, drugs plans as well as our internal processes
  • Provide regular dispensing duties
  • Assist Manager as required in preparing and actioning reports
  • Accurately and efficiently perform prescription entry and verification processes
  • Willingness to optimize pharmacy process efficiencies and productivity
  • Maintain patient confidentiality as regulated Provincially and Federally
  • Assist Manager to effectively maintain Pharmacy inventory

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience working in a dispensary would be an asset
  • A Regulated Pharmacy Technician license in good standing with the Alberta College of Pharmacists is required
  • Highly skilled in accuracy, efficiency and good common sense
  • Experience with Kroll
  • Motivation to learn and excel in a small team environment, working independently as well as with our team as needed
  • A strong desire to create a focused work ethic and patient-centred care culture
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to reliably commute to work when scheduled
  • Willing to obtain RCMP background check
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service
