Job Description

Well established Rural Pharmacy in Oyen,l Alberta is looking for a Clinical Pharmacist and acting Pharmacy Manager to join  our team. This full-time  team member will manage the operations of the Pharmacy, including providing consultation to customers, working collaboratively with health care providers within our community and working collectively with pharmacy regulators.  There is an opportunity to practice to your full scope in providing professional services, dispensing medication, and assisting in the maintenance of the dispensary.

Duties:

  • Accurately and timely dispense all prescriptions and patient focused services as required
  • Administer injections/immunizations as requested in order to maximize patient care
  • Provide professional advice and applicable dialogue with patients on prescription and OTC products to provide excellent customer service and maximize customer loyalty
  • Initiate prescriptions when appropriate and in the best interest of the patient
  • Maintaining the dispensary inventory level within the prescribed guidelines through accurate inventory records
  • Maintenance of complete and accurate documentation as required by the various Colleges of Pharmacy, drugs plans as well as our internal processes
  • provide regular dispensing duties
  • Build meaningful professional relationships within our community
  • Foster a collaborative approach to care within the pharmacy and community

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A pharmacy license in good standing with the Alberta College of Pharmacists 
  • a dual license with the Saskatchewan College of Pharmacists (in good standing) would be an asset
  • Highly skilled in clinical services and the desire to improve health outcomes by ensuring that patients are receiving the Clinical Services they qualify for and need.
  • Experience with Kroll would be an asset
  • Motivation to learn and excel in a small team environment, working independently as well as leading the team when required
  • A strong desire to create a focused work ethic and patient-centred care culture
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to be able to provide the best customer service to our existing and new patients
  • Certification to administer medications by Injection
  • Additional Prescribing Authorization
  • Pharmacy Manager training through the Alberta College of Pharmacy
