Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Pharmacy Assistant to join our independent community pharmacy team. This role offers a unique opportunity to take on a lead position within our compounding operations, while also supporting dispensing workflow, inventory management, and delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Compounding Leadership

  • Lead and support daily non-sterile compounding operations
  • Prepare compounded prescriptions with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Maintain compounding records, logs, and quality assurance processes
  • Support inventory and sourcing of compounding ingredients and supplies
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards and best practices

Dispensing & Workflow Support

  • Assist with prescription intake, data entry, and preparation
  • Support pharmacists and technicians in dispensing processes
  • Maintain organization and efficiency of workflow

Inventory Management

  • Monitor stock levels and place orders
  • Manage expiry tracking and stock rotation
  • Maintain accurate inventory records

Customer Care

  • Provide warm, professional, and knowledgeable service to patients
  • Assist with front store and pharmacy inquiries
  • Support a welcoming and patient-centered environment

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of pharmacy experience (community pharmacy preferred)
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Assistant Diploma (or equivalent education and training)
  • Completion of a Non-Sterile Compounding Certificate Program (required)
  • Demonstrated experience or strong competency in non-sterile compounding
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
