Job Description
Apothecare Pharmacy is looking for a part-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our growing team.
We are an independent, clinically focused pharmacy located in Calgary, with a strong emphasis on personalized care, cardiometabolic health, medication management, and service that goes beyond traditional dispensing. We are looking for someone who is friendly, reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced but supportive pharmacy environment.
Position Details
Position: Part-Time Pharmacy Assistant
Location: Apothecare Pharmacy, Calgary, AB
Hours: Part-time, with potential for additional hours as the pharmacy grows
Start Date: To be discussed
Responsibilities
The Pharmacy Assistant will support the pharmacy team with day-to-day dispensary and patient care operations, including:
- Greeting and assisting patients in a professional and welcoming manner
- Entering, processing, and preparing prescriptions accurately
- Managing prescription intake, refills, and patient communication
- Supporting inventory management, ordering, receiving, and stock organization
- Assisting with blister packaging/compliance packaging
- Answering phones and directing patient inquiries appropriately
- Supporting clinical programs, appointments, and pharmacy workflow
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional pharmacy environment
- Working collaboratively with pharmacists, technicians, and other team members
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous pharmacy assistant experience preferred
- Experience with Kroll is considered an asset
- Fluency in English, including reading, writing, and verbal communication, is required to ensure safe and accurate patient care, prescription processing, and team communication
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized
- A professional, kind, and patient-centred approach
- Willingness to learn and contribute to a growing independent pharmacy
