Administering Injections and Immunizations Course

This two-part course provides pharmacists with education on administering drugs by injection. The course contains theory, discussion, demonstrations, and guided practice in relation to preparing and delivering medications and immunizations by injection.


Part 1 of the course is a Pre-Study program (downloadable course material) accredited for 9 CEU's.  (CCCEP # 8007-2016-1822-I-P) Expires: August 31, 2018 


Pharmacists will work through two different modules to complete the pre-study portion.  The modules are:

      • Module One – Diseases and Vaccines
      • Module Two - Practical Considerations



Part 2 of the course is a live workshop accredited for 7.25 CEU's.  (CCCEP # 8007-2016-1823-L-P 7.25 CEU’s) Expires: August 31, 2018


Participants who successfully complete Part 1 and Part 2 will receive a Statement of Completion at the end of the Workshop. Participants will require the Statement of Completion when applying to the Alberta College of Pharmacists for authorization to administer drugs by injection. Should participants successfully complete Part 1, but not Part 2, then a Statement of Completion for Part 1 (9 CEU’s) will be emailed to them.
