RxA Pharmacist Membership

As a licensed pharmacist in Alberta, you are eligible for a RxA membership.

Pharmacist and New to Alberta pharmacist members will receive the following benefits:

Professional Liability Insurance Optional Add On

  • RxA is dedicated to providing our members with the relevant tools and resources to succeed professionally. This is why we offer claims-made professional liability insurance through the Canadian Pharmacists Benefits Association (CPBA).  

ENVIRx Program Optional Add On

  • Through the ENVIRx Program, pharmacists promote safe and effective drug use while giving Albertans an opportunity to return unused and expired medications to their community pharmacy. The ENVIRx program enables pharmacies to comply with The Pharmacy and Drug Act, which outlines the standards for operating licensed pharmacies.

Career Opportunities

U of A Student, Learner or Provisional Pharmacist (Intern) Membership

Eligibility:

  • Currently enrolled in the Entry to Practice Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Alberta.  Please note: The student membership does not apply to the PharmD for Practicing Pharmacists Program.
  • Currently registered as a provisional pharmacist (intern) with the Alberta College of Pharmacy.
  • Currently registered as a learner in the Certificate to Canadian Pharmacy Practice at the University of Alberta.

Students or Provisional Pharmacist members will receive the following benefits:

  • RxA/CPBA/TD Insurance Meloche Monnex Advancing the Profession scholarship awarded annually to a pharmacy student.
  • Discounted registration fees for RxA professional development events.

Eligibility: Any pharmacist that is currently not on the clinical practicing register either temporarily or permanently such as those on maternity leave or retired.
