This two-part course will provide pharmacists with education on administering drugs by injection. The course contains theory, discussion, demonstrations, and guided practice in relation to preparing and delivering medication and immunization by injection.
Betty Golightly, BSc Pharm and Beverley Lounsbury, RN will lead participants through this in-depth course. Betty Golightly is a pharmacist in Calgary. She is an instructor in the Pharmacy Assistant Program at SAIT Polytechnic and the owner/operator of Go Travel Health. Beverley Lounsbury is a registered nurse. Her career includes adult education in a variety of medical fields such as childbirth education and women’s issues. She has also been involved in immunization of school age programs, baby wellness programs and flu clinics.

Due Date for Pre-Study Multiple Choice Test:
The Pre-Study Multiple Choice Test must be completed and faxed back to RxA at 780.990.1236 or scanned and emailed to email@example.com by Tuesday, April 24, 2018. You will be notified via email of your results prior to the Workshop. Participants must achieve at least 70% on the pre-study multiple choice test. This is a prerequisite for attending Part 2 – Workshop.

To obtain continuing education credits and a Certificate of Completion, a workshop participant will:
Participants who successfully complete Part 1 and Part 2 will receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of the Workshop. Participants will require the Certificate of Completion when applying to the Alberta College of Pharmacists for authorization to administer drugs by injection. Should participants successfully complete Part 1, but not Part 2, then a Statement of Completion for Part 1 (9 CEU’s) will be emailed to them.
RxA Member $450.00 plus GST = $472.50
Non Member $750.00 plus GST = $787.50
Registration fee includes continental breakfast, lunch, access to pre-study material and workshop material.
Cancellation Policy: No refund for April 28, 2018 course.
