On the shores of Great Slave Lake lies the city of Yellowknife (population 19,600), located in Chief Drygeese traditional territory. The ‘urban’ centre of the territory, the Northwest Territories’ capital city boasts many of the amenities of a big city, while maintaining its small town charm, with outdoor wilderness adventures just minutes away.

 

Located on Canada’s largest fresh-water delta, Inuvik is a place of rich diversity. The largest NWT town north of the Arctic Circle, this community of 3,400 packs its seasons with colourful festivals and outdoor adventures. In the summer, the renowned Great Northern Arts Festival brings in artists and crafters from across the circumpolar world.  The town is surrounded by a bounty of campsites and hiking trails, and within day-trip distance of vibrant communities like Tuktoyaktuk and Tsiigehtchic. It’s also the perfect springboard for daring wilderness experiences further out at Aulavik, Ivvavik and Tuktut Nogait National Parks. The possibilities for adventure are endless!

 

As the Staff Pharmacist you will maintain and monitor the procurement and distribution of medications, provide drug information and educatio. You may also provide functional direction to the pharmacy technician(s) during the delivery of their pharmaceutical services and assist them in the management of the automatic dispensing cabinets (ADC) system to assure medications are accessible to healthcare staff in a safe and efficient manner.

 

Wages range from $53.80 – $64.26/hour depending on experience, plus an hourly stipend to offset the cost of living ($1.90 per hour in Yellowknife and $7.52 per hour in Inuvik, maximum $3,700 and $14,661 respectively per year).

 

These jobs typically require a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy.
