Job Description
The Commons Pharmacy is on a mission to make it more convenient for our busy working community to meet their prescription needs. We are proud to do this by being the only compounding pharmacy in the Timberlea area of Fort McMurray. We are also the only pharmacy in Timberlea to offer drive-thru, delivery, and pickup services.

We are looking for a Pharmacist – Licensee who will help us grow and care for our clientele. They’ll counsel our valued customers to ensure positive outcomes for their specific medical needs. They’ll also be qualified to prescribe medication to patients as needed.
We are looking for someone who can schedule and supervise our Team of 6-7 Pharmacists and Assistants. They’ll take ownership to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly by providing mentorship and a welcoming environment to our Team.
The successful applicant should have a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree, be a qualified licensee in Alberta, have their APA, be able to compound medication, and have high Emotional Intelligence to support a team of 6-7 Pharmacists and Assistants. Bonus points for candidates who have their Injection Certification.
Responsibilities:
- Prescribing medication to patients as needed as the on-premises Pharmacist Licensee
- Scheduling Pharmacy Staff to ensure full shift coverage, including float and weekend coverage
- Providing counselling to patients tailored to their personal needs and specific medical conditions, literacy, and potential privacy concerns
- Counselling patients for new therapy and helping patients develop an understanding of how any prescribed medication helps them meet their health goals and requirements
- Initiating care plans with patients, following up, and collecting and thoroughly documenting relevant patient, drug, and disease information
- Identifying actual and potential patient drug-related problems and monitoring patient medication adherence
- Controlling pharmacy inventory by executing supply and shipment orders
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy
- Valid license to practice pharmacy in Alberta
- Additional Prescribing Authorization (APA)
- Familiar with using the KROLL system
- Strong Customer Service skills
- High Emotional Intelligence with supervisory and scheduling skills
What will give you a competitive edge:
- Injection Certification
- Experience in medication compounding, we are also willing to support the right candidate to get the required experience if they do not already have it
Compensation:
- Wage: $60-70 per hour depending on experience
- Benefits: medical, dental, vision, and paramedical such as chiropractic and massage therapy
