Job Description

Mint is currently seeking temporary full-time and part-time intern for the COVID Shelter strategy for the vulnerable populations of Calgary.

Key provincial and municipal stakeholders are creating a centralized isolation and quarantine facility, in Calgary, to help the city’s most vulnerable populations during a time of crisis. This project is referred to as the COVID Isolation Site.

Pharmacy technicians are required to help support the Mint COVID Response Team. The Pharmacy Intern will help in the safe and efficient dispensing of medication by our Mint Health + Drugs pharmacies in the inner city of Calgary.

This is a great opportunity for a pharmacy intern who wishes to work as part of a concerted multidisciplinary effort to help the most vulnerable in Calgary. Working in the background, supporting pharmacists you will be making a difference as those on the front line help patients with the fight against COVID. You must have the flexibility to be able to work 7 days a week. You will be working to full scope.

Immediate availability is required.

Although listed as temporary, there is potential for something more permanent.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting pharmacists prepare prescriptions, enter data, and assist with patient interactions at the store level. The successful candidates will hold the following credentials:

Education and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience with vulnerable populations (preferred)

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Computer proficiency with Word, Excel spreadsheets, Kroll, Netcare, and other database programs.
  • Very strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
  • Assists patients with questions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Communicates effectively at all levels.
  • Very strong attention to details.
  • Accepts and responds to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
