Taylor Fennell
CareRx

The Future of Pharmacy Award is presented to up to three pharmacists per year who exude a passion for pharmacy and offer extraordinary promise to the profession. Nominees will exhibit strong leadership skills and the initiative to become one of the profession’s role models. Taylor Fennell is an exceptional recipient of this award, having demonstrated all of these qualities in her four years of practice.

Since graduating in 2020, Taylor has quickly established herself as a highly competent and dedicated pharmacist. She began her career with CareRx in 2021 as an Operations Pharmacist, where she distinguished herself with her ability to adapt rapidly to the complexities of continuing care specialty pharmacy. Despite being a pharmacist with less than a year of experience, Taylor’s attention to detail, responsiveness, and collaborative approach earned her a reputation as one of the team’s most reliable and clinically confident members.

Taylor’s drive and commitment to advancing her practice led her to transition to the role of Clinical Consultant Pharmacist in June 2023. In this position, she continues to excel, consistently completing tasks ahead of schedule and maintaining the highest standards of patient care. Taylor’s clinical competence and dedication to continuous improvement set her apart as a future leader in the pharmacy profession.

In addition to her clinical work, Taylor has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to teaching and mentoring. She regularly precepts pharmacy students, helping to shape the next generation of pharmacists and inspiring them to embrace the same passion for patient care and professional growth. Her leadership extends beyond her practice, as she actively participates in clinical working groups, contributes to new education materials, and willingly volunteers to assist colleagues across the organization.

Taylor’s ability to excel in challenging environments has also been a defining career feature. Working in clinical consultant pharmacy services at continuing care sites in Calgary, she has consistently proven herself capable of building strong relationships with high-needs clients, site leadership, and other healthcare professionals. Her use of Additional Prescribing Authority (APA) has further demonstrated her clinical judgment and earned her the trust of both nurses and physicians at her practice sites.

In just four years, Taylor Fennell has shown exceptional promise as a future leader within CareRx and the broader pharmacy profession. Her combination of clinical excellence, leadership potential, and commitment to professional growth make her an ideal candidate for the Future of Pharmacy Award. Taylor continues to set a powerful example for others in the profession, and her contributions to patient care, pharmacy practice, and the profession will undoubtedly have a lasting impact for years to come.
